More information about Quiet Arch Icons – Decorative Film for KALLAX

Quiet Arch Icons transforms your KALLAX into a serene, architecturally inspired piece of furniture. Each square is designed as a miniature façade: generous negative spaces, fine, slightly irregular contours, and minimalist arch and niche motifs create a tranquil city silhouette in Japandi style. The film is suitable for smooth door and drawer inserts as well as our corpus makeover sets.

Made as a PVC-free adhesive film with a matte protective laminate, only the specified flat visible surfaces are covered; compartments, joints, handles, edges, and interior surfaces remain uncovered. Available in the formats offered for KALLAX (1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 doors), perfectly matched to modular rhythms and minimalist living spaces with low sofas and paper lamps.

  • Design effect: Calm architectural abstraction provides a clear, readable façade effect in every KALLAX square.
  • Ready to install: Film elements tailored to your chosen KALLAX version, ready-to-apply and easy to combine.
  • Material & protection: PVC-free adhesive film with matte laminate for a subtle feel and long-lasting appearance.

Planning Furniture Film: Consider Surface, Pattern Direction and Edges Together

A successful furniture film project begins before cutting. Mentally divide the furniture into fronts, sides, panels, edges and cut-outs. Measure each part individually and note which surfaces will remain visible. Then check the product information for the existing substrate.

For wood, stone and linear patterns, establish a consistent pattern direction. Number doors and drawers so that the cut pieces and pattern flow can be clearly assigned later. Include visible edges, handle holes and transitions in the quantity calculation from the outset.

  • measure each front, side and panel separately
  • establish the pattern direction before cutting and installation
  • prepare the substrate clean, dry and in accordance with the product information
  • take edges, cut-outs and allowances into account during planning

Before Selecting: Check the IKEA Series, Variant and Dimensions Carefully

Many IKEA furniture items look similar, even though the series, production year or variant may differ. Therefore, do not rely on appearance alone. Look for the product label, proof of purchase or assembly instructions, and compare the external dimensions, number of elements, drill holes and edges with the product description.

The assignment on Maison Mavune describes the intended compatibility of the respective product. Before placing your order, check which furniture surfaces and parts are included. Accessories, inserts, doors or drawers may require a separate selection.

  • Identify the series name and variant
  • Measure the width, height and depth of the existing furniture
  • Check the scope of delivery and the furniture surfaces shown
  • In case of discrepancies, use the general furniture foil category

KALLAX Makeover: Plan Cubes, Outer Surfaces and Inserts Separately

For a KALLAX makeover, outer surfaces, the interior surfaces of the compartments and optional inserts are separate planning areas. First determine the configuration and orientation of your shelving unit. A 2×4 shelving unit can be used vertically or horizontally, changing the viewing direction and decor pattern.

For the selected product, carefully check which surfaces and number of compartments it is intended for. Doors, drawer or box inserts are not automatically included in the same set. Plan the decor pattern across adjacent surfaces before mounting individual elements.

  • Count the KALLAX configuration and number of cubes
  • Decide whether it will be used vertically or horizontally
  • Assign outer surfaces and inserts separately
  • Determine the decor pattern across several compartments in advance
